about

Hello! I’m Annie Robertson and I’m the voice behind Lantana Home. I’m a 32 year old living in inner Portland Oregon. I’ve lived in Portland for over 20 years, am from Cuidad Obregon, Sonora, Mexico with a few year stint in Southern California. I love to garden, cook, read, and homeschool my two boys. I am very quiet and love alone time, so am usually up way too late at night when the house is quiet, and then up again too early in the morning downing cups of coffee. I’m always constantly rearranging furniture and checking out the housewares sections of thrift stores, as well as dreaming up sewing plans I never really finish.

My husband Josh and I have extensively remodeled a couple houses and are always eager to do as much of the dirty work as we can ourselves. In the ten years we’ve been married, we’ve taken on quite a few house projects and have found that working on design planning and working on projects alongside each other helps us connect so much.

I fully gutted and remodeled an RV trailer for our family to live in, because we torn down an old house on a big lot we purchased. We had every intention of building a house we designed on that lot, but plans changed! We purchased our neighbor’s house across the street, and plan to level out the old lot and turn it into a huge garden space to grow our own food and herbs, and have a space for neighbors to gather.

Sustainable living, in all its facets, is extremely important to our family. We try to grow a lot of food, make do with what we already have and buy used when possible, and also acknowledge that in order for the LIFESTYLE to be sustainable, we have to relax about our ideal standards and be flexible with them.

I hope if you’re reading this blog, you leave feeling inspired to be content in your space, to DIY what you can, and know you don’t have to go buy every new and shiny thing to make your home or wardrobe look great!  If you have any comments or questions, I’m happy to answer them at anniesarai@gmail.com
